We’ve had the pleasure of organising the parade at the festival, as well as providing walkabout acts throughout the weekend.
In 2018, our Parade of Two Futures saw a menagerie of otherworldly creatures take to the fields. In ‘Utopia and Flora’, our flower dancers and butterflies danced to the beat of our bloco, while Phil the Phoenix, the Spice Girls and Kantaben roamed and raised smiles from the audience. Our dystopian Robot Overlords, along with Val and the Valkyries, stalked the crowd, bringing a shiver of discontent, but thankfully no trouble broke out and the peace was kept for another year.
In 2019, it was the turn of our weird and wonderful beasts to take to the fields. Tyrone the T-Rex managed to keep a respectful distance and no punters were eaten. Our glowing gastropods made their slow-and-steady Kendal debut, raising smiles – and eyebrows – from the audience.
With the fields silent in 2020, we hope to be back at Kendal in 2021. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
