You’ll love our weekly and monthly Bloco sessions taking place at our home The Vale (Mossley).
Join us to develop our offering of Carnival music and dance. Meet new creative pals and further your skills, all with a massive smile on your face as part of the Global Grooves Carnival community.
You can enjoy blending percussion, melody and dance in weekly sessions for that big Global Grooves energy hit! And in time you will be ready to join us at some of the biggest festivals and Carnivals in the UK (and sometimes even internationally).
Percussion and dance classes are open to all abilities and experience levels. Horns / Melody players should have some previous playing experience.
Percussion instruments are provided (feel free to bring yours along). Horn / melody players, please bring your instruments along!
Members aged 12-16 to be accompanied by an adult (Future Leaders alumni may come along unaccompanied).
Weekly, monthly, and annual subscription options available, as well as bursary places. Classes take place at The Vale, Unit 2, Vale Mill, Off Micklehurst Road, Mossley, OL5 9JL

At Global Grooves we are absolutely serious about having fun! This means sharing that combined energy, all of our skills and our love of Carnival while paying homage to the cultures and traditions which we share with our international Carnival family.
Everyone is welcome but everyone is expected to give it their all, and in return you will see tangible progression within your chosen artform and feel a commitment and generosity from all.
When the drums kick in, the horn section fires up and the energy of the dancers fills the room there is no other experience like it. Your arm hair will stand on end, endorphins fill your body and the energy of Bloco will blow the worries of the week into outer space.
You can only really experience this connected energy in person, but here is a sneak peek behind those rehearsal doors.
Over the past decade Global Grooves has been providing masterclasses, short courses and study opportunities in a variety of international music and dance styles. As a member of our Bloco you will receive free / preferential rates, and early announcements so you can take full advantage of these opportunities as a VIP member of the Global Grooves Carnival family.
The Global Grooves creative team is made up of professional touring artists, teachers and performers, each with their own unique expertise, flair and energy to bring to the project. By joining the Global Grooves Bloco you will have the opportunity to dive deeper into their creative minds and feed your artistic thirst with decades of combined experience to share. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced artist they have the depth of experience to nurture you on your creative journey.
