Drumming
We offer a range of workshop experiences across a variety of percussive instruments that will have your students bobbing to beats from South Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Brazil. The rich traditions of each culture offer something exciting and memorable, introducing your students to a wonderful menu of irresistible grooves.
Dance
Our dancers are highly trained specialists in world dance styles. We offer exciting, structured dance workshops in schools that will see even the most reserved students jumping to their feet, from workshops designed to get boys dancing, to high energy workshops that link directly with our carnival offer.
Visual arts
Go beyond the traditional cut-and-stick class: our visual arts workshops complement our wider Carnival work and can include costume and mask-making. You might want to try Junk Jam, our award-winning project using recycled materials to create a drumming, dance and arts spectacular that doesn’t ‘cost the earth.’
The low-down
How many students can we cater for in our workshops?
Tuition for up to 30 children per tutor, materials provided at additional cost. We can work with a whole year group, one class, or even a small number of students from a class.
What is the duration of the session?
Anything between 10 and 90 minutes, depending on the age of participants.
What do you need to provide?
A space appropriate for the workshop and number of participants, such as a classroom or hall.
